The Gymnasium Ulricianum Aurich was founded in 1646. The school has about 2000 students in grades 7 – 13 and about 150 teachers, including student teachers.

- Spanish starting in the 11th grade; with sufficient demand Latin und French starting in the 11th grade may also be offered
- Russian, Italian, French and Hebrew are offered as extra-curriculars.
In addition to language courses, Bilingual Classes (in English) are offered in History, Geography, and Politics starting in the 7th grade.10 international Partner Schools
