The Gymnasium Ulricianum Aurich was founded in 1646. The school has about 2000 students in grades 7 – 13 and about 150 teachers, including student teachers.

Students may choose to study foreign language according to the language curriculum:

  • English: 1st foreign language
  • French or Latin: 2nd foreign language starting in the 7th grade
  • 3rd Elective-language possible starting in the 9th grade: French, Latin, Spanish and Greek
  • Spanish starting in the 11th grade; with sufficient demand Latin und French starting in the 11th grade may also be offered
  • Russian, Italian, French and Hebrew are offered as extra-curriculars.
  • In addition to language courses, Bilingual Classes (in English) are offered in History, Geography, and Politics starting in the 7th grade.10 international Partner Schools
